Sign the Recycle Chatham Petition Today!
Despite the successful launch of curbside recycling in the City of Savannah and public support for expanding the service county-wide, the Chatham County Commission has decided to delay making a decision on this issue indefinitely.  Therefore, Clean Coast encourages registered voters living anywhere in Chatham County to sign a new recycling petition which will have the power to place the issue on the ballot so that voters will have the opportunity to make curbside recycling part of county government policy.

The economic recession has depresssed the recycling market, but this shouldn't stop the County from moving forward if the pledge to become the "greenest county in Georgia" is sincere.  The economy will rise and fall, but good environmental policy like curbside recycling needs to be a part of the infrastructure of the community, if it is truly to be "green".

Please take a moment to visit http://www.petitiononline.com/GreenCty/petition.html to read and sign the petition.  Or visit the "Greenest County in Georgia?" website to read more about it.

Also, please spread the word to your friends.  We will need over 16,000 signatures to get this on the ballot.
